To earn this certificate, faculty members must complete an online course on best practices for online teaching and learning.  The course reviews the basic tools of the learning management system, online pedagogy, course design, adult learning theory, developing course materials, developing course assignments, and online communication best practices.  Once the course is completed, faculty members must submit an online module for peer review.

To earn this certificate, graduate students must earn a graduate student certificate of university teaching, attended additions workshops on the mastery of basics of teaching, conduct a peer teaching observation, be observed by a peer, engage in professional interactions about teaching, and complete a more substantial teaching portfolio.
